But sometimes some people try to change the culture in a way that celebrates taking. “I own this jet ski and I can ride it as long and as loud as I want. Get out of my way.” It’s clearly in the owner’s interest to take over the lake, but not really in anyone else’s.
However, it is a dead end for the short term. Your selfishness today will probably be replaced by someone else’s selfishness tomorrow.
Culture is what happens when the community insists on it.
