What you need to deliver at each stage of your project
Whether your project is small or colossal, you need to know which project managers need to deliver for each phase of the project so that your project can be successful.
But what are project managers’ deliverables?
I’m not talking about the final outcome at the end of the project. I’m talking about what you, as a project manager, need to convey to your stakeholders at each stage of your project.
These are items that your stakeholders need to be successful so that your overall outcome is successful.
What are the project manager’s deliverables at each stage of the project? Let’s get into it.
Initiation phase deliverables
The Initiation phase is where you get your marching orders – and this is where you need to define and authorize the project.
As a project manager, your job is not to walk away and start executing. You need to focus on two important documents:
- Scope statement
- Priority matrix
In an ideal world, your sponsor would have given you a scope statement when handing you the project, but this usually doesn’t happen.
Putting together these two initial documents will help you understand the key components of the project, including scope, time, and budget, so you know where to go next.
Results in the rest of the project phases
At every stage of the project, there are important deliverables that you need to be aware of. My most recent YouTube video breaks it all down so you don’t have to guess. Join me on YouTube and we’ll wrap up this conversation.
And if you want more step-by-step guides on all things project management, check out my SLAY Project Management online course where I guide you through all the steps of successfully managing a project – including documentation – from start to finish. You’ll get all the templates you need, along with detailed video instructions on how to use them.
