So the occasion was a lunch for Sidhant Malhotra, who was about to embark on one of his foreign trips to return to his college in Worcester, UK. The whole family had come forward for a warm farewell, all six of us.
And that is why we had descended on Gola Sizzlers Sector 29 Gurgaon. It is located on the ground floor of an unnamed building numbered 8 to 10.
Who in our family decided to come here is a mystery that is now history. We went, we ate, we survived and we are still alive.
It’s a nice-looking, spacious and colorful restaurant with a smoky welcome (courtesy of a diffuser) for arriving guests.
When we arrived, one of their Northeastern hostesses welcomed us and directed us to the entrance where we were met by another Northeastern hostess and a manager.
The restaurant was empty but somewhat noisy, volume control bereft of staff trying to set up the gigantic bar at one end of the restaurant, and this did not escape my notice.
It certainly could have been done quietly, but they had not paid any attention to my family coming in and grabbing two tables right in front of the extensive bar.

We were presented with the menus and water too quickly and began the quest to decide what to order. Their menu can be quite confusing due to the sheer size and occupants (dishes).
The range of dishes besides the Sizzlers list is quite massive and can send your search into vast, uncharted territory. However, we were able to order successfully after a few minutes.
